CNN’s Piers Morgan, perhaps unintentionally, provides some insight on the debate over how quickly to debate the gun-control issue in light of Friday’s Newtown massacre. By bringing on both sides of gun control, Morgan gives the appearance of courting a back-and-forth on the topic. What happens, though, is a bit one-sided, as Morgan himself shouts down those who disagree with him.

Says guest John Lott, author of “More Guns, Less Crime”: “I’m upset because I worry that the gun-control laws that you’re pushing have killed people.”

Morgan: “Oh, what a bunch of nonsense.”

Pleaded panelist Dan Gross of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence: “Can I please have the opportunity to say something without screaming?”

Emotional television, though not too edifying.
