Software developer Comex raised some hopes when it appeared he was sending out indications that he would release a jailbreak solution for the iPad 2, but it seems as if those who want to customize their iPads beyond Apple’s settings will have to wait.

To date, the newest tablet from Apple is the only iOS device that hasn’t been jailbroken — modified to accomodate programs, features and code that aren’t sanctioned by Cupertino — and rumors began circulating Thursday that Comex had finally cracked the device wide and tweeted a release flyer. Tech site thegadgets reported that the flyer image was a fake, citing the moderator of iFans , the forum where the news first broke.

On his Twitter account Wednesday, Comex did promise that he would be releasing something soon, but didn’t give any details as to what or when.
