Could the long wait for the white iPhone be over at last?

Bloomberg Businessweek reported that three unnamed sources “with knowledge of the plans” say that the white iPhone will launch at the end of April, after a 10-month delay. The report says the phone will be on Verizon and AT&T.

Before you get too excited, remember that insider sources aren’t always as knowledgeable as think say they are — remember the iPhone nano?

That said, the report does fit in with what Apple executive Phil Schiller, Apple’s head of worldwide marketing, said in mid-March. Last month Schiller tweeted that the white iPhone would be coming this spring.

The report said the release has been delayed by a few manufacturing problems, including peeling paint and complications with sensors in the phone.

The sources also said that the iPhone 5 will not be debuting at the Worldwide Developers Conference, in line with many of the latest reports from the tech press. Many are predicting the iPhone 5 won’t launch until September.

The timing of this release seems odd, because anyone patient enough to wait 10 months for a white iPhone 4 would likely also be willing to wait five more for a white iPhone 5.

Have you been waiting for the white iPhone? If the report is true, will you buy it immediately or keep waiting for the next generation?
