Valve will not show a game at E3 this year

The Bellevue, Wash.-based game studio sent a release to members of the gaming press Wednesday saying that it has no titles to show at the gaming industry’s big summer show.

"Lots of folks have mailed asking about appointment times with Valve," the company told Kotaku and others in an e-mail. "Well, we are not showing any titles at this year's show. So no appointment is needed."

Many gamers had hoped the company would carry that momentum and drop the next episode of Half-Life 2, which gamers have been waiting for since Episode 2 came out in 2007.

But Valve, which is coming off its huge release of Portal 2, seems to be taking it slow for now.
