The House last week took a big step toward strengthening protections for federal employees who report fraud in their agencies, adding a provision in the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act.

The bill now includes protections for employees of intelligence and national security agencies, and is expected to be considered by the Senate in November. But will it really help root out fraud if passed?
