Defensive end Adam Carriker missed Friday’s preseason game at Indianapolis with blisters on his feet. He described them as “flesh wounds on the back of my heels,” and said he’s feeling better than he did earlier in the week.

“If it was a game today, a regular season game, I would’ve played,” Carriker said.

In his place, the Redskins started Jarvis Jenkins, the rookie out of Clemson who certainly can use as many game reps as he can get.

Carriker’s feet were heavily taped and had bothered him during practice throughout the week. Still, he came to Indianapolis expecting to play.

“I didn’t know until this morning,” he said. “Last night I thought I was going to play.”

Carriker said he wasn’t certain whether he’d be able to fully participate when the Redskins return to the practice field Sunday.
