Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley pulled down a 17-yard reception on the opening drive of the game to record his 423rd career catch.
With that reception, Cooley moved into 19th on the NFL’s all-time list for catches by a tight end. Cooley entered the game tied with former Cowboy Jay Novacek for 19th.
With fullback Darrel Young nursing a hamstring injury, the Redskins used Cooley as a fullback, and the eighth-year pro recorded the first carry of his career. With Washington facing third-and-1 from their own 45, Cooley – who played H-back under Joe Gibbs as a rookie -- got the handoff and ran up the middle for three yards.
