Former Redskin Joe Jacoby sues NFL over concussions

Former Washington Redskins’ offensive tackle Joe Jacoby is one of the latest former playes to sue the NFL over the effects of concussions.

Jacoby’s lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Friday. More than 100 similar lawsuits have been filed by a total of more than 2,000 retired NFL players.

The NFL has denied the allegations that it should have done more to protect players against head trauma and has called the lawsuits without merit.

Jacoby, 53, played for the Redskins between the 1981 and ’93 seasons and was a mainstay of the team’s famed “Hogs” offensive lines.
