Mike Shanahan offers sympathies to Eagles coach Andy Reid

Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan contacted his Philadelphia Eagles counterpart, Andy Reid, to express his condolences following the death of Reid’s son.

Shanahan was in contact with Reid via text message to let Reid know how sorry he was for Reid’s loss.

Reid’s oldest son, 29-year-old Garrett Reid, was found dead in his dormitory room Sunday at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., where the Eagles are holding their training camp.
