After being held out of all team drills during last week’s practices because of a groin injury, quarterback John Beck returned at full capacity on Sunday. Beck took all of the first-team snaps early in practice and is hoping to start Friday at Indianapolis. Rex Grossman took first-team snaps during the second portion of 11-on-11 drills.
Coach Mike Shanahan said the quarterback didn’t appear to have any limitations, and Beck said he felt good.
Beck did throw an interception to safety Reed Doughty on a deflected pass intended for Jabar Gaffney.
Running back Ryan Torain will see the hand specialist this week and then a determination will be made on his return, Shanahan said.
Receiver Brandon Banks, who had a 58-yard kick return on Friday night, watched practice on Sunday with some swelling in his left knee. Fellow wideout Malcolm Kelly remains sidelined with a foot injury.
Safeties LaRon Landry (Achilles tendon), Oshiomogho Atogwe (hamstring) and Kareem Moore (knee) continue to train on the side. Atogwe has been sidelined since last Monday. Landry and Moore have been on the PUP List all of camp.
Tight end Chris Cooley was not present and is expected to remain sidelined with a knee injury for at least two weeks. Shanahan said during practice Cooley was in the trainers room receiving treatment.
Linebacker Horatio Blades has been quiet most of camp, but the backup inside linebacker notched an interception on a tipped Kellen Clemens pass.
Backup guard Artis Hicks returned to action after missing much of last week with a mild concussion.
