Quick hits: London Fletcher, LaRon Landry miss practice with injuries

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said safety LaRon Landry (Achilles), linebacker London Fletcher (ankle), receiver Niles Paul (toe) and guard Maurice Hurt (knee) all did not practice on Wednesday.

Safety Oshiomogho Atogwe (knee, toe) practiced fully, as did running back Tashard Choice (hamstring). Tackle Jammal Brown (groin), and tackle Sean Locklear (knee, ankle) were limited.

Shanahan said safety Kareem Moore was nearly 100 percent, but the team decided to release him anyway, and the coach said he has a lot of confidence in the other four safeties on the roster. Shanahan denied a report that Moore failed his physical with the Redskins before he was released.

The Redskins have added tight end Rob Myers to the practice squad. Since entering the league as an undrafted rookie in 2009, the Utah State product previously has briefly been with the Eagles, Patriots, Bills and Colts.

Mike Jones covers the Washington Redskins for The Washington Post. When not writing about a Redskins development of some kind – which is rare – he can be found screaming and cheering at one of his kids’ softball, baseball, soccer or basketball games.
