Quick hits: Mike Shanahan comfortable with offense’s playcalling

Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan said he is comfortable with the offensive playcalling despite that unit’s continued struggles. The coach said he is heavily involved in the playcalling.

Shanahan said some of the struggles on offense are the result of injuries along the offensive line and receiver position.

Shanahan said that tight end Fred Davis has a grade one ankle sprain and the hope is that he will be ready to practice Wednesday.

Linebacker Rocky McIntosh is expected to be fine after being hampered by an ankle injury in Sunday’s game.

Tackle Trent Williams’s high ankle sprain continues to improve, but Shanahan wasn’t sure how close Williams - who has missed the last two games - is to returning.

Corner Phillip Buchanon missed yesterday’s game because of the knee and neck injuries that limited him last week.

Safety Kareem Moore remains on the PUP list and the team has until Nov. 16 before it must decide whether to activate him.

Mike Jones covers the Washington Redskins for The Washington Post. When not writing about a Redskins development of some kind – which is rare – he can be found screaming and cheering at one of his kids’ softball, baseball, soccer or basketball games.
