Other observations from practice:
Rex Grossman’s first couple of passes were sharp and more crisp than most we’ve seen in camp earlier this week.
Rookie defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins continues to impress with his size and strength. He likely will see a lot of action in passing situations even if he doesn’t start.
Trent Williams continues to display great athleticism and speed. The big guy is so quick that even though Brian Orakpo got him with an initial fake, Williams still was able to regain position and fend off Orakpo in a one-on-one drill.
DeAngelo Hall picked off a Rex Grossman pass intended for Jabar Gaffney over middle.
Rocky McIntosh was back at his starting ILB spot next to London Fletcher, with Perry Riley working with the second unit.
Kevin Barnes got extensive work as third cornerback. He manned the slot with Hall and Wilson as the two corners on the edges.
After working exclusively at inside linebacker the first six practices, Lorenzo Alexander got snaps at OLB, with the second unit.
Jammal Brown appeared to move much better than he did last year. He has said his surgically-repaired hip finally is fully healed.
Ryan Kerrigan went through individual and special teams drills, but watched 11-on-11 work.
The first-team offensive line featured: RT Brown, RG Chester, C Montgomery, LG Lichtensteiger, LT Trent Williams.
First-team D-line was LDE Carriker, NT Cofield, RDE Bowen.
