Quick hits: Santana Moss should play Sunday, says Shanahan

Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan said wide receiver Santana Moss practiced fully and if he has no setback to his healed hand, which was broken against Carolina, he should play Sunday. Also practicing fully were safety LaRon Landry (Achilles’ tendon) and linebacker Keyaron Fox (skin/knee infection).

Not practicing for Washington were receiver Niles Paul (turf toe) and linebacker London Fletcher (ankle).

Limited in practice were linemen Trent Williams (knee) and Maurice Hurt (knee) and cornerback Josh Wilson (hamstring).

Shanahan said rookie running back Evan Royster has made steady progress on the practice squad, so coaches felt he deserved a shot on the 53-man roster, resulting in the decision to cut Tashard Choice.

Shanahan said he couldn’t discuss whether or not the team put a claim in for quarterback Kyle Orton, whom Denver waived yesterday.
