Redskins’ field goal struggles continue

The Washington Redskins’ field goal struggles continued for a third straight week as kicker Graham Gano had a 36-yard attempt blocked in the team’s 18-16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

In Week 1, Gano missed his first – and only – attempt wide right.

In Week 2, the Cardinals blocked an attempt up the middle.

Monday night, against Dallas, punter/holder Sav Rocca mishandled the snap from Nick Sundberg, delaying Gano’s approach. The kicker tried to get the ball off after Rocca recovered, but safety Gerald Sensabaugh came up with the block.

The Redskins missed the chance to take a 9-6 lead, and instead, Dallas recovered at its 32-yard line, went downfield and took the lead.

Those three points came back to haunt the Redskins, who lost by only two.
