Redskins, Marines hosting Toys for Tots drive Sunday at FedEx Field

The Washington Redskins on Sunday will host their annual Touchdown for Tots Toy Drive at FedEx Field and encourage fans to bring a new, unwrapped toy for children and teens.

The toy drive is a joint effort of the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and the U.S. Marine Corps and reaches thousands of underprivileged children and teens in the D.C. area.

Members of the Marine Corps will be stationed at all stadium gates and suite entrances with collection bins to accept toys that later this holiday season will be distributed to area youths.

In 2010, Redskins fans donated more than 1,047 toys and $27,329 to the Toys for Tots campaign, enabling more than 27,000 area children and teens to unwrap a gift on Christmas morning, according to the team’s records.
