Redskins OTAs continue this week

The Washington Redskins kick off their second week of organized team activities Tuesday morning, and will continue to practice Wednesday and Thursday.

Thursday’s practice session will be open to the media.

The team held its first week of OTAs last week, and practice again next Tuesday through Thursday.

This Thursday, Coach Mike Shanahan is expected to address the media for the first time since OTAs got underway. The coach was scheduled to speak last week, but was injured when two players collided with him at midfield during 7-on-7 drills. The coach was said to be “a little woozy” after the hit and didn’t hold his news conference. He returned to work the following day.

The Redskins’ mandatory full-squad mini-camp will take place June 11-14.

The players then get a little more than a month’s break before reporting for training camp in late July.

Mike Jones covers the Washington Redskins for The Washington Post. When not writing about a Redskins development of some kind – which is rare – he can be found screaming and cheering at one of his kids’ softball, baseball, soccer or basketball games.
