Wide receiver Anthony Armstrong will not play for the Washington Redskins today against the St. Louis Rams after a strained hamstring suffered Monday night against Dallas failed to completely heal.

Armstrong was limited for all of Washington’s practices this past week, and with Washington entering a bye week, it makes sense not to rush the second-year pro, who suffered the injury late in the first half against Dallas.

Also inactive for the Redskins will be starting fullback Darrel Young, who also missed last week’s game with a strained hamstring. The Redskins primarily used Chris Cooley at fullback with Young out against the Cowboys.

Other inactives: rookie cornerback Brandyn Thompson, rookie linebacker Markus White, rookie tackle Willie Smith, rookie wideout Leonard Hankerson and defensive end Darrion Scott.

Veteran receiver Donte Stallworth, who has appeared in one game this season, is active today and will likely serve as third wideout for Washington.

Inactive for the Rams are receiver Danny Amendola. Mike Sims-Walker will start in his place. Other inactives for St. Louis: cornerback Rod Hood, running back Jerious Norwood, linebacker Jabara Williams, tight end Stephen Spach, wideout Greg Salas and defensive end C.J. Ah You.
