Redskins re-sign LG Kory Lichtensteiger

The Washington Redskins announced Tuesday that left guard Kory Lichtensteiger has signed his restricted free agent tender and will return to the team for a third season.

Lichtensteiger’s base salary will double to $1.2 million next season. The Redskins offered the tender to him March 2

Lichtensteiger, drafted out of Bowling Green in the fourth round by Denver in 2008, is coming off a season in which he started strongly but tore his ACL and MCL in Game 5 against Philadelphia. He had surgery and is expected to be ready to return to action about the start of training camp.

Lichtensteiger started 14 games for Washington in 2010, his first year with the team.
