Rookie linebacker Ryan Kerrigan is doing work on the side and riding an exercise bike a day after hyperextending his right knee and suffering a mild bone bruise.

The 16th overall pick of the draft, Kerrigan had an MRI done on the knee Friday but it showed no structural damage.

Kerrigan is wearing a compression sleeve on his leg and still walked with a slight limp.

Mike Shanahan said Friday the hope is that the Purdue product can return within a few days.
