Washington Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan is a nominee for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for a third time this season after his two-sack performance against the Miami Dolphins Sunday.

Kerrigan, drafted 16th overall by the Redskins out of Purdue, also recorded two forced fumbles and five tackles. It marked the first multi-sack game of Kerrigan’s young career, and increased his season total to five, which ranks second on the team.

Also nominated for Rookie of the Week are Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller (seven tackles, 1.5 sacks); San Diego Chargers receiver Vincent Brown (five catches for 97 yards, one touchdown); Oakland Raiders receiver Denarius Moore (five catches, 123 yards, two touchdowns); and Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray (20 carries, 135 yards, one touchdown).

Kerrigan earned defensive rookie of the month honors in September. On the season, he has 41 tackles, four forced fumbles and an interception, which he returned for a touchdown.

Fans can go to NFL.com to vote for the rookie of the week. The winner will be announced Friday on NFL.com and on the NFL Network.
