Last Friday, we reported on the anticipated frenzy for Tina Fey tickets when they go on sale tomorrow. A more sought-after ticket you’re unlikely to find for quite some time, we said. We were wrong.

That’s because tickets for the 2011 White House Easter Egg Roll are up for grabs in an online lottery beginning Thursday at 12:01 a.m. You’ll have until 11:59 p.m. Sunday to register for tickets to the event at

From there, it’s a waiting game: Last year’s event saw 250,000 requests for tickets, which resulted in a total of about 30,000 attendees. So, unlike Tina Fey tickets, there’s no benefit to be had by logging in early and furiously hitting the refresh button until a ticket becomes available.

The event will take place on the South Lawn of the White House on Monday, April 25, continuing an Easter tradition that dates back to 1878.
