Beat the heat, one scoop at a time

Yeah, it’s melted by now. Reduced to a puddle of lukewarm cream, sugar and squandered happiness.

Nothing even remotely chilled stands a chance of staying that way out there, with temperatures teasing the century mark. And as you’ve no doubt heard by now, it’s going to be even worse.

At times like this, there’s really only one solution, and that solution is to get to the ice cream before it melts. Unlike other classic warm-weather remedies, a scoop or two won’t negatively impact your work day; good luck on that all-important client presentation you have to deliver while decked out in billowy, breathable white cotton.

As we learned last winter, good ice cream is a treat worth fighting the elements. Remember Zach Burroughs, a.k.a. Ice Cream Guy, who was photographed running through a January snow event (Do you miss that time of year yet?) with a cone in hand? He had the right idea, although we don’t recommend dashing across the street carrying a bowl of hot soup or something equally hot on a scorching June day in an attempt to become the internet’s next Photoshop contest.
