D.C.’s Essential Veggie Eats: Last call for nominations

The (totally vegan) Chic P salad at Sweetgreen is one of the staff’s go-to dishes when we’re looking for meat-free dining. What are yours? (Lavanya Ramanathan/The Washington Post)

Thanks to readers who have flooded our inbox, our Facebook page and our Twitter feed with nominations, we’ve got tons of dishes to choose from as we compile our list of Washington’s essential vegetarian and vegan eats.

Before we close the nominations and begin the painstaking process of eating vetting, however, we’re giving you one last chance to name your favorite vegetarian or vegan dish in the area.

For inspiration (or just to plan your meat-free summertime eating), check out some of the responses we’ve gotten here, with such gems as the vegan wings at Smoke and Barrel and General Tso's Surprise at Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant.

To submit your picks, e-mail us, tweet using #veggieeats or drop by our Facebook page. Be sure to include your name and city so we can give you credit when these reader favorites appear in the Weekend section of the Post and on the Going Out Guide.
