There’s a pre-concert party from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Renaissance Dupont Circle Hotel on New Hampshire Avenue NW, with appearances by Garza and Hilton and a DJ set by San Francisco’s DJ Pleasuremaker, who’s serving as Thievery’s opening act at the 9:30 Club. Everyone can partake in happy hour food and drink specials; those going to see Thievery live can show their tickets to pick up a free autographed CD, while supplies last.

On Friday night, Eighteenth Street Lounge — Hilton’s first bar, where the duo met — will unveil its new upstairs Studio Bar at a party featuring a DJ set by new Eighteenth Street Lounge artists Afrolicious. Show a hand stamp from the 9:30 Club at the door to get in free.
