Take your pick: Five apple orchards with pick-your-own Cortlands, Fujis and Staymans to spare

That slight chill in the air means apple-picking season is peaking across the region. At most local orchards, late summer apples like Red and Golden Delicious, Fuji and Gala are plentiful, with varieties like Granny Smith, York and Stayman ripening in the weeks ahead.
