Where to watch the Final Four

Will VCU’s Cinderella story continue on Saturday night? (Tony Gutierrez/AP)

For alumni of Kentucky, Connecticut, Butler and VCU, though, this is a time to savor, and bars are waiting to welcome fans and friends with big TVs and happy hour specials.

VCU is the Cinderella team of the tournament, and there are three bars hosting “official” alumni viewing parties in the area. Town Tavern in Adams Morgan is promising the game “on all TVs in the bar,” $8 pitchers of beer and $5 burgers, among other deals, and in Virginia, Rams fans can head for Alexandria’s Shooter McGee’s or Bailey’s in Ballston, which has drink specials until 9 p.m. and four dozen flatscreen TVs.

Butler’s homebase is Penn Quarter Sports Tavern, which has 19 TVs on two levels and a nice covered and heated patio. March Madness drink specials include $3 Guinness, $12 pitchers of Miller Lite and $20 buckets of beer.

Kentucky fans will be heading for Grevey’s in Falls Church, because owner Kevin Grevey is a Kentucky basketball legend. (His number 35 jersey hangs in the rafters at Rupp Arena.) Specials during the game include a Kentucky Burger made with Maker’s Mark sauce, and the bar also has 50 screens and a huge patio.

Connecticut’s Huskies will be taking over the Laughing Man Tavern, where specials include $4 Sam Adams and $3 Miller Lite. There are 19 TVs on two floors.
