Black Cat turns 20 with Shudder to Think, Ted Leo, Mary Timony and others

The Black Cat turns 20 this year, and the lineups for the rock club's anniversary shows have exactly the amount of import you'd expect for such a major milestone.

Two shows have been announced on Sept. 13 and Sept. 14 with beloved former D.C. acts Ted Leo and Shudder to Think, as well as "rock idol next door" Mary Timony, Tuscadero and Black Cat owner Dante Ferrando's hardcore act Gray Matter. Our eyes are getting misty just thinking about all these old-school D.C. folk in one room.

Tickets ($20) are on sale now through Ticket Alternative. Here are the details:

Friday, Sept. 13: Max Levine Ensemble, the Shirks, Ted Leo, Girls Against Boys, Gray Matter.

Saturday, Sept. 14: Coup Savage and the Snips, Mary Timony and Nathan Larson,  New Wet Kojak, Tuscadero and Shudder to Think. Tickets are $20. Get them here.

And now, a little blast from the past:
