D.C. Beer Week is coming to a close this weekend, and there’s still time to take in some of the great tastings. Smith Commons is hosting a Mid-Atlantic Brewery Night with samples from some of the region’s finest breweries.

Another tasting that’s perfect for the end of summer is part of a competition: The DC Scoop. Some of the city’s best local creameries and gelato makers will be on hand to serve up their confections, and you get to vote on the best.

Speaking of ice cream, the Haagen-Dazs on Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda has moved down the street and, to mark the occasion, the staff is giving away a scoop of ice cream to the first 500 customers and offering a constest to win free ice cream for a year.

A bar crawl is another way to make your own sampler. The Hip Hop Bar Crawl adds music from different eras of hip-hop as the soundtrack to your journey through six U Street bars.
