It marks a musical return for Earth Day on the Mall after a one-year break. In 2011, nonprofit group Earth Day Network took a year off from organizing the event after a pair of high-profile events that featured Sting, the Roots and John Legend in 2010 and the Flaming Lips in 2009.

This year’s event, a rally that also includes dozens of guest speakers, is expected to draw tens of thousands to the National Mall. Earth Day Network also says “more performers and speakers will be announced in the coming days.”
