Update: Saturday’s Jimmy Buffett show at Jiffy Lube Live has been postponed. The new date is Thursday, Sept. 1. All tickets will be honored.

Original post: With the threat of Hurricane Irene looming, the organizers of Columbia Heights Day have canceled Saturday’s festivities. The fifth annual celebration was scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Harriet Tubman Elementary School and was to feature local music, vendors, kids activities and more.

This comes on the heels of yesterday’s cancellation of the Silopanna Music Festival, which was also scheduled for Saturday.

And, of course, the MLK memorial dedication has been postponed.

The Fete du Soul Festival, scheduled to be held Saturday at Yards Park, has been postponed “until later this year.” A new date has yet to be announced.

Uncorked, Rockville’s annual wine and music festival scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled. It will not be rescheduled.

Sunday’s Journey concert at Jiffy Live Live has been postponed until Sept. 4.

Friday’s Joe Pernice show at Jammin’ Java is canceled.

Saturday’s Hip Hop Caucus presents The MLK Memorial Dedication Party featuring Biz Markie has been postponed.

Saturday’s Conya Doss show at Blues Alley has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Friday’s Larry Graham show, Saturday’s N’Dambi show and Sunday’s Jessica Lea Mayfield show, al at Rams Head On Stage, are postponed.

Saturday’s John Prine show at Pier Six Pavilion is postponed.
