We round up the stories, blog posts, tweets and going-out scuttlebutt that have us talking.

The Hawk ‘N' Dove is getting a massive overhaul as it attempts to attract older crowds (read: people who will consider paying more than $2 for a beer). An October auction could mean you can hang on to your treasured memories and your favorite creaky barstool. (Photo by Amanda Voisard/The Washington Post).

Thanks to new owner Xavier Cervera, who also owns the Chesapeake Room, the beloved Capitol Hill watering hole Hawk ’n’ Dove is getting a makeover (Cervera detailed some of the changes coming in this interview with Fritz Hahn). But why say goodbye to your favorite old bar stool when you can own it? DCist has the details on a Hawk ‘n’ Dove’s auction, which according to auction house Rasmus Auctioneers, will include the “complete liquidation of the substantial decorative accents, furniture, fixtures and equipment.” Exactly what’ll be on sale isn’t posted yet, but the date of the auction will be Oct. 6 (it’ll continue online until Oct. 7). The National Pinball Museum and its hundreds of playable pinball machines — which our own Amy Orndorff enjoyed quite a bit when she visited it in Georgetown — are heading to Baltimore. Founder David Silverman was told in July the museum had to vacate its space in Shops at Georgetown Park after Labor Day. Silverman told The Baltimore Sun that he is in final negotiations for a space several blocks from the Inner Harbor, a location a real estate broker directed him to after he was unable to find an affordable space in Washington. Eater found that Chipotle’s upcoming Southeast Asian restaurant, ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen — which will be launching right here in Washington — is looking for staff. We can take this as a sign that an opening can’t be far behind.

The restaurant’s debut location at 1516 Connecticut Ave. NW in Dupont Circle was announced in April. It plans to serve Thai, Malaysian and Vietnamese-inspired fare. We can’t help but wonder: Will a one-pound summer roll be on the menu? [Eater]

And finally, if you, like half of Washington, left the area this weekend in an attempt to sun yourself one last time before the inevitable end of summer: Brightest Young Things has photos of what you missed, namely the soiree Art After Dark, at the stunning Museum of the Americas.
