That’s why we run an ongoing “Happy Hour of the Week” feature in the Weekend Section, spotlighting drink deals and cool events you may want to take advantage of. With the long weekend on the horizon, we thought we’d round up some of our favorite features from this summer.

District Chophouse : The Penn Quarter brewpub marks its beers down to $3 between 4 and 7 p.m. on weeknights.

Nellie’s Sports Bar : On Monday nights, the flatscreen TVs in the U Street sports bar show old episodes of “The Golden Girls” while bartenders pour such $5 specials as “The Dorothy” — a tall vodka and soda with bitters.

New York Avenue Beach Bar : While it’s best known as a place to party on Friday and Saturday nights, it’s more fun to visit the New York Avenue Beach Bar during the week. Grab a seat at one of the picnic tables, toss a game of corn hole and take advantage of discounted drinks, such as $5 frozen margaritas or $3 canned beers.

Boulevard Woodgrill : We’re already fans of happy hour at Clarendon’s Boulevard Woodgrill: Sunday through Friday, every craft beer on tap is $3, except for the Belgian imports. To celebrate the new list of canned microbrews, the bar is giving away a free Boulevard Woodgrill koozie with every purchase. Bring it back for $1 off every subsequent can purchase.

Donovan House : The rooftop pool isn’t the high-style destination that it was in summers past, but it’s hard to beat the views and the weeknight happy hour prices, which include $5 cocktails, wine and beer.
