If you paid to see “Jack and Jill” over the weekend, then you know the feeling all too well: Sometimes, the best part of going to the movies is the coming attractions.

That’s what the DC Film Society’s Coming Attactions Trailer Night is all about: The excitement of soon-to-be popular (or terrible) films, without then having to sit through a miserable Adam Sandler money-grab.

Tonight’s event at Landmark’s E Street Cinema begins at 7 p.m. and is set to include buzzed-about clips from David Fincher’s “ The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” and the Gary Oldman-Colin Firth picture “Tinker Tailor Solder Spy.

You’ll rank your interest in each of the trailers — from “Blah” to “Yeah” — after they screen. Last time around, voters were most interested in two tiny, critically-acclaimed foreign films — “Beginners”and “Circumstance” — but couldn’t have cared less about the moribund “Conan the Barbarian” or “Final Destination 5.
