Named for the back-to-basics country movement spearheaded by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson back in the ’70s, the playlist is heavy on Johnnny Cash and Merle Haggard, which goes over well with the urban cowboys sipping $5 beer-and-a-shot-of-whiskey combos at the bar. However, the DJs work Hank Williams, Dolly Parton and George Strait into the mix — even Garth Brooks and Brooks & Dunn if you ask nicely.

Outlaws marks its first birthday tonight, and to celebrate, there’s nothing but outlaw country by Johnny, Waylon, Willie and the boys until 11 p.m., followed by great tunes from all eras. For a preview, check out this Spotify preview that the Outlaws boys made exclusively for the GOG Blog.
