Christmas trees are going up and we’re wearing parkas, so it’s time to sip our first hot cocktails of the season. We’ll be highlighting our favorites all week.

Just in time for the Thanksgiving weekend’s cold snap, the veteran mix man at the Round Robin Bar, Jim Hewes, unveiled his warming classics, including the Bailey’s-and-peppermint-laced Winter Therapy (above left); and the spiced apple cider, with Calvados apple brandy and a rim sprinkled with his spice mix.

For mint lovers, the candy cane garnishes are a fun touch, and though the drinks are sweet and traditional, the bar’s five seasonal cocktails ($15 each) are ideal for sipping while soaking up the Willard InterContinental Hotel’s lush holiday decor, which will be lighted for the public beginning Tuesday.
