The gist goes something like this: The end of the world has come, and a group of survivors have little to remind themselves of the world as it was, except for their memories of the Simpsons and other shards of ’90s pop culture.
But unlike in the play, it isn’t the end of the world if you don’t know your Simpsons trivia from Aaronson to Ablabab: at Duffy’s Irish Pub last night, Springfield (and particularly, Mr. Burns) knowledge took up just one of the evening’s trivia rounds, to the chagrin of my assembled Team Discovery Channel! teammates. (We won! $20 split between seven of us. Still worth it.)
Some sample questions:
• Which president entrusted Montgomery Burns to transport a trillion dollar bill to Europe?
• What is Mr. Burns’s extremely rare blood type?
• Which “hippie” did Mr. Burns kick off the power plant softball team?
No spoilers here, because there are still plenty of Simpsons trivia nights ahead this week.
