I’m among those forgoing food today, and beyond the occasional stomach rumble, I’m mostly just thinking about what insanely decadent food item I’m going to use to break the 25-hour fast, which ends at about 7:25 p.m.

I’m leaning towards the Pitmaster Combo at Hill Country, which is way more than one person should eat in one day, let alone one sitting. It comes with 1/4-pound of lean brisket, pork and beef ribs, 1/4 chicken, two side items and cornbread and oy vey is it treif. (Without getting too much into personal theology, I’m a Jew who feels obligated to nominally observe the High Holy Days but loses no sleep overlooking quotidian dietary laws.)

Here’s how a few fellow Going Out Guiders would break an all-day fast, if they had to:

Stephanie Merry: I vote for the ‘shroom burger plus toasted marshmallow shake at Good Stuff.

Fritz Hahn: A Costanza burger topped with melted swiss at Kangaroo Boxing Club or a loaded, greasy patty melt with a side of fried okra from the Tune Inn.

Brandon Weigel: Doritos Locos Tacos!
