Rams Head Center Stage is the latest attraction at the Maryland Live! Casino at Arundel Mills, the 330,000-square-foot mall-and-slots complex located between Baltimore and Annapolis. With multiple bars, plans for nightly entertainment and room for 500 people, it’s the latest effort to draw patrons to the complex since it opened in June. (Not that there’s anything wrong with an all-you-can-eat buffet.)
The concert calendar features a mix of local and regional cover bands that will be familiar to anyone who has spent time in Clarendon or Dewey Beach: Mr. Greengenes, Kristen and the Noise and Burnt Sienna are all on the schedule, and the ’80s-focused Hyjinx band will play every Tuesday, which is ladies’ night. Bigger-name retro acts, including Foghat, Sister Hazel and former Three Dog Night singer Chuck Negron, will perform on Thursdays with tickets costing $25 to $30.
This weekend’s lineup includes the Real Geniuses on Friday, Crazy in Stereo on Saturday and Big Bang Baby on Sunday, with all shows starting at 8 p.m. Expect to pay a $10 cover charge on Friday and Saturday, with free admission Sunday through Wednesday, including Monday Night Football viewing parties.
And hey — if you’re going to see a band at the casino, you might as well make a day of it: The complex is home to several restaurants, including Bobby’s Burger Palace, Phillips Seafood and, for that true mall experience, the Cheesecake Factory.
