At Todd Gray’s Muse at the Corcoran, $35 gets you not only a meal by the reigning chef of the year (as awarded by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington), but also a performance by cellist Dorotea Racz and reduced admission to the museum’s exhibit “Next.” The menu includes Carolina-style shrimp, dirty rice, smoked mountain trout and angel food cake with Rappahannock strawberries.

Has your foodie mom already checked the major players off her to-do list? Well, the Green Pig Bistro in Clarendon has been open only a month, and it’s been getting some positive buzz. A $55 fixed-price meal is a great excuse to check out the daring new bistro that focuses on unusual cuts of meat. For this special brunch, that means kung pao sweetbreads; pork shoulder, hock and ears with turnips and greens; pork belly and waffles with maple apples and egg; and for dessert, chocolate stout cake with caramel and vanilla ice cream.

Want to pamper Mom? Book a table at Adour. The $89 three-course menu ($45 for children 12 and younger) is a lavish celebration of seasonal ingredients and French technique. Look for Maine lobster, seared foie gras, slow-cooked fish, poached rhubarb and a classic vacherin (a dessert of meringue, fruit and ice cream).

Both the menu and the atmosphere at Jeff Black’s Addie’s radiate comfort. That’s never more true than on Mother’s Day. This year’s special menu, with entrees that range from $12 to $19, includes beignets, shrimp and grits, smoked half chicken served with a buttermilk biscuit and sausage gravy, and Eggs Pontchartrain — that’s two poached eggs, ham, jumbo lump crab meat and roasted corn piled on an English muffin.
