Right now the National Zoo is giving the excruciatingly long prediction of three months and directing the adoring public to the panda cam.

The three month wait isn’t unprecedented — it was five months before Mei Xiang’s first cub, Tai Shan, met his fans. There was such a demand for that black and white bundle, that the zoo had to give away free, timed tickets. Then, of course, we all remember that fateful day nearly three years ago when Tai Shan left for China leaving a butterstick-sized hole in our hearts that went unfilled until now.

So with a new panda to admire, we only have one other question: cheetahs? What cheetahs?
