That’s what makes tonight’s Hip-Hop Karaoke at Liv such a destination: There are more than 300 selections from A Tribe Called Quest to Young Black Teenagers. Whether you want golden age (Eric B & Rakim’s “Juice [Know the Ledge]”), old-school (Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five’s “The Message”), soulful (Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop [That Thing]”) or something to set the party off (Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize”), you’re going to find it. Five DJs provide the beats, and in addition to the lyrics, organizers even provide rappers with their own hype man. Even better: there’s no cover charge or dress code.
The whole song list is on the event’s Facebook page, but to give you a taste of it, we decided to pick the top songs we’d do, including a posse cut or two.
