But it’s anything but ordinary for many of you. College football season kicks off tonight, which means four months of heated arguments between big-time football school grads that I won’t be able to contribute to in any meaningful way. (“The Honey Badger is gone? You don’t say!”)

Today we unveil the Going Out Guide’s annual atlas of college football viewing hangouts, places where alumni groups gather to cheer on the alma mater, sing the fight song after touchdowns and complain about the computerized methods that ultimately determine which teams get to compete for the sport’s national championship (for a few more years, at least).

Tonight’s hot spot is the Mason Inn, an SEC-focused Glover Park gathering point for fans of the Ol’ Ballcoach and his South Carolina Gamecocks, who are in action against Vanderbilt at 7 p.m. Among the Inn’s southern charms: a 100-inch projection screen and pitchers that start at $8.75.

Find your team — from Alabama to West Virginia — on the list, and if you know of an alumni gathering spot we don’t have already, let us know in the comments or drop us a line and we’ll add to it.
