Like a real cortisone shot, this mix of Jack Daniels, Jameson, apple schnapps and cranberry juice will help keep you from feeling any pain. (Fritz Hahn/The Washington Post)

That inspired Nationals broadcaster F.P. Santangelo to suggest that Duffy’s Irish Pub create a special “Cortisone Shot” to serve during Nationals games, which are a big draw at Duffy’s.

The result, pictured above, is sweet little mix of Jack Daniels, Jameson, apple schnapps and cranberry juice. Despite two whiskeys, it’s really smooth and tastes predominantly of apples, which is perfect for fall. Duffy’s owner Andy Duffy says the bar will be pouring the shot for $5 during every Nationals game. Of course, the bar’s usual Nats deal stands: Anyone wearing Nats gear at Duffy’s when Jayson Werth hits a home run or Bryce Harper steals a base receives a free shot of Jameson.
