DC Brau, the city’s first brewery in half a century, is celebrating its one-year anniversary in a similar manner to how it marked the opening of its doors: with a party at Meridian Pint. Twenty DC Brau beers will be available on cask and draft for $5 each.

Saturday marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. Did you know one of D.C.’s many monuments is dedicated to those who perished? It’s at the Southwest Waterfront. To commemorate the centennial, 1,517 lights, representing the people who died in the disaster, will be lit and images of the ship, her crew and her passengers will be projected.

This weekend, dozens of local artists will descend on Anacostia to transform vacant Ward 8 warehouses into eclectic galleries and performances spaces. It’s all part of LUMEN8Anacostia, a festival designed to show the viability of an arts district east of the river.
