We’re giving away a pair of tickets to the band’s June 13 show at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Here’s what you’ll need to do in order to win them.
We usually talk about weekend plans in our Thursday chats, but this week is different: As you may have heard, the world as we know it is going to end on Saturday! How would you spend your final hours in the D.C. area? What local dish or cocktail is most rapture-worthy? Are there any exhibits or plays you’re just dying to see? Any breathtaking vistas or natural spaces you would need to gaze upon one last time?
Here’s the kicker: If you want the tickets, you have to give us your answer in a style similar to the overwrought, vocabularific prose of Decemberists lyricist Colin Meloy.
It can be a sonnet, a haiku or even just a neat turn of phrase. Rhyming? Bonus points, but not a requirement. It just has to be wordier than necessary. Remember, the thesaurus is your ally.
We can’t wait to see what you come up with.
