Case in point: our annual Holiday Wrapping Paper Contest. We’re asking Washington area kids age 12 and younger to design their own holiday gift wrap and send it to us here at The Post.
A panel of judges will choose 12 finalists, based on creativity and execution (three from each age group: 6 and younger; 7- to 8-year-olds; 9- to 10-year-olds; and 11- to 12-year-olds). Those finalists will have their work posted online, where Washington Post readers will vote for the winner. The winning design will be printed in Weekend on Dec. 21 as a sheet of gift wrap, and on the cover we’ll show the winning artist. Photos of the finalists and their entries will also appear in the section.
Entries must be received by Nov. 26, so get working! Send your entry to: Weekend and Going Out Guide Wrapping Paper Contest, The Washington Post, 1150 15th St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20071. We’ll contact the finalists by Nov. 30. Online voting begins Dec. 1 and ends Dec. 8. For official rules, visit washingtonpost.com/postfun. Questions? Email
