    The latest polls from battleground states
    North Carolina

    The latest NBC News/Marist College poll shows Clinton leading by nine points. The state went for Obama in 2008 and Republican Mitt Romney in 2012.

    Florida

    RealClearPolitics shows Clinton with a 3.3-point lead in an average of polls, and NBC/Marist put her ahead by five points.

    Colorado and Virginia

    Trump trails by double digits in both of these states in the NBC/Marist poll -- 14 points in Colorado and 13 points in Virginia. In Colorado, the last three polls show margins of 10 to 14 points. In Virginia, Trump has trailed by double digits in the last two polls and by as much as seven and nine points in other recent polls.
