How Oregon newspapers are playing news of calls for Gov. Kitzhaber’s resignation

Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber is at the brink.

After months of scrutiny over his fiancee’s questionable business dealings and use of office, he appeared ready to resign this week, calling home his successor, Secretary of State Kate Brown, from a D.C. trip. He was prepared to resign but had been talked down at the last minute by his attorney and his fiancee, Cylvia Hayes, the Oregonian reported. A number of high-ranking state Democrats have since called on him to resign, which could happen today, according to at least one local report.

In the meantime, here’s a look at how six local papers played news of the developing scandal, courtesy of the Newseum.
