What’s scary? Let’s see, scary is Dan Steinberg with a curly afro or Mike Wise playing Michael Jordan one on one. The scariest of all is Tom Brady taking Cam Newton under his wing and teaching and guiding him.

Newton and Brady both are in the Under Armour stable of players and shot a commercial together last month. I’ve also been hearing that Brady is mentoring Newton, the No. 1 overall pick who will play for the Carolina Panthers this season.

Who better than arguably the best quarterback of the last decade to work with such a raw phenom such as Newton?

The knock on Newton is that he’s a run-first quarterback with very limited knowledge of playbook terminology, but if both Brady and Newton have taken their teacher-student relationship seriously, the learning curve may have been drastically reduced.

So don’t be suprised if Cam Newton hits the ground running when the season starts.
